Love is...

⁴Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. ⁵It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. ⁶Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. ⁷It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
⁸Love never fails.

Most of the time we hear this bible passage in wedding ceremony as a reminder to the bride and the groom, since love is one of the crucial elements in the marriage.

Surely Apostle Paul told us these not because of the love in marriage, and it is more about the love in our friends and families, in our neighbors, and in our community.
Action without Love is nothing... and quite meaningless (tastes like soda without carbon dioxide). If actions are all driven by responsibilities and obligations, it sounds more like a contract.

May I continue to learn how to love my community, my neighbors, my friends and families, so that this Love will also pertain in our love relationship.

We feel so blessed with all the loves around me and Scarlet!

Stupid ME =)

Lately we have been busy with distributing invitations and some invitations I would have to mail it out.
I guess I haven't mailed anything in a decades (probably!!).
So, it is finally the time that I can use up my leftover stamps which include all different kinds and some of those have a dragon graphics on it (for the year of Dragon, 生肖紀念郵票).

The current postage cost is 54 cents (Canada), 98 cents (US), and $1.65 (International).

The dragon's stamps has "47 cents" written on it, and I have some stamps that have "1" or "2" written on it. So I was thinking to use those 1 dollar stamp and send it to US, and 2 dollar stamp for Hong Kong (The extra is just for tips then... hah 心想唔駛煩嘛).

After a few weeks when I have almost used up my stamps, I went to the post office to get more and also mail some more invitations out. Oops, I found out that those 1 dollar and 2 dollar stamps are actually just 1 and 2 cents stamps! Huh >< !!
Hah... then I found out that mails with insufficient postage will be sent back to the return address. Nice, but I didn't write the return address either!!
Then they told me that those letters without return address will be sent to a place in Edmonton for people to claim it.... hah! Hm... nevermind.

Although lately is very busy especially at work (lots of OT), it is something funny for me to laugh at （本身唸著豪Ｄ，點知原來兩仙當兩蚊咁用！郵差叔叔，真係唔好意思啦。）. =)

September is coming!! Time flies faster than I can imagine...

Time goes, went and gone... it is really faster than I can imagine.

Our wedding day is really getting close, and I am very excited while I am trying my best to enjoy every single busy moments (Yes, wedding prep is a long process and requires lots of organizing... I guess God is training my organizational skills again!!).

Recently, we went thru lots of our childhood photo (yes, it is cute!!) and there were lots of precious family moments, loving friends, etc etc. I thank everyone that walked into my life!

But, I can't deny that I am getting OLDer. Maybe my life has went half way already. As I am stepping into a married stage, God is helping me to reflect on myself a lots.

What should I focus on in the rest of our life?

Luke 12:34 - For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

What is your relationship with the bride and groom?
The bride is my sister, I knew her from the day I was born.
The groom is my going to be my brother-in law after October 10, 2009
I met Ringo back in 2007, when Scarlet introduced him as her boyfriend.

Tell me something about the bride and groom.
I'm not quite sure exactly how Scarlet and Ringo met, but I know it was either through mutual friends or church. Scarlet had been to going to Church since she was a teenager. She's definitely had changed churches for the past years. But as soon as she got to RCMBC, she seems to have found what she was looking for. It was probably half a year until I noticed she had met a lot of nice people and one of them is Ringo. They saw each other often and I believe a SPARK happened. I noticed Scarlet had a whole lot more laughter after she met Ringo. They have been together for a year and a bit and the good news was announced.

Scarlet might had a point in her life that she was lost in direction. She was leaving her home, Vancouver to Hong Kong intend to find a whole new career field. She was gone for a good half year (Scarlet: I know it seemed long to my dear sis, but I was only gone for 3 months..hehe), but something had told her to come back and she had joined RCMBC, and led her to many good things. She had also found her current job and now she is studying to increase her knowledge in that field.

I can tell Scarlet everything, because she is my sister. She might not always understand what I want to say, because I blab it all out at once. But she will always be there to listen. Even we don't talk everyday, she knows how much I love her.
All I really know about Ringo is that he is a computer geek and he can fix my computer just like that! He's a programmer for games... I know he's definitely someone you can rely on when you are in trouble. He can give good advises. I know Scarlet will find what she is looking for marrying Ringo, or she have already found it.
Scarlet and Ringo is always up for doing new things. They will go from wakeboarding and snowboarding to chilling night out for dinner or a drink.

What is your relationship with the bride and groom and how did you know them?
I knew Ringo on the last day of Enoch Youth leadership Camp on the ferry ride back to Vancouver. He was wearing a tank top (Ringo: I guess she means muscle-tee! Hah!).
I knew Scarlet through Ringo at church. She was kind of blue when I first met her unlike the jolly lady she is now. I have known Ringo for about 6 years now and I have known Scarlet for about 2 years.

Tell me something about the bride and groom.
Scarlet is renown for her dramatic laughter that has an intonation that sounds like a melody. We can always count on her to laugh at our good and bad jokes, which really boosts our confidence. She's very sweet and usually makes unexpected comment at unexpected moments that makes us all laugh our heads off. From hearing her struggles in life and family, I have a lot of respect for her becoming such a sunny and fun-loving lady nowadays. She may look like a princess on the outside but she has a big heart.
I often praise God for the change He has made in Ringo's life. From a smoking young handsome guy who drove a flashy yellow car to a devoted (still young and handsome) Christ follower who lets God take his driver's seat, he's one of my best brothers in Christ. Even though he sometimes has teasing disorder, he has been the encouraging and discerning brother who helps me during my times of struggles and the influential man in his community. He just needs to cut and style his hair more often.

What is your relationship with the bride and groom and how did you know them?
I've known Ringo for almost 7 years. We met at Enoch camp.
I met Scarlet a couple of years ago also at camp through (surprise!) Ringo.

Tell me something about the bride and groom.
Someone once said, "We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly." In Scarlet's eyes, Ringo is the best thing since sliced bread (Ringo: In Ringo’s eyes, Scarlet is his greatest Wonder Bread! hah). Actually probably better than sliced bread since after all man can't live by bread alone. Individually, Ringo is a caring, thoughtful individual who is gifted as a listener and counselor. On the other side, Scarlet is just full of laughter, so much that we often wonder if there is anything wrong with her. Seriously, Scarlet is an emotional individual who takes joy in the simple things in life. Together, Ringo and Scarlet are the model Chinese couple. Ringo is outgoing and dominant while Scarlet is most comfortable walking in the shade of Ringo's broad shadow. They both have grown a lot together since I have known them. Through their dedication and love to each other, they have learned to accept and appreciate each other, to see perfection through imperfection.

What is your relationship with the bride and groom and how did you know them?
I first met Ringo in Enoch camp 2003. Our first conversation happened in winter 2004; I knew Scarlet through Ringo. He brought her to our fellowship's summer retreat 2006/07.
I have known Ringo for around 4 to 5 years and Scarlet for around 2 years.

Tell me something about the bride and groom.
Ringo is a very caring guy. When he sees me feeling down, he would ask me how I feel and whether or not I am okay. When I first met Scarlet, she was a 'cool' girl to me. She didn't talk much (Scarlet: Actually Addison, you seemed very “cool” to me too when I first met you @ camp in your Superman T-Shirt… Hehe…). However, the more I get to know her, the more laughter I can hear from her. Her laughter has become her icon. Ringo and Scarlet often appear in pair. Whenever you see Ringo, you can almost also see Scarlet.
